It is important to set some time each day to exercise mindfulness. Our busy lives get in the way of paying more attention to what really matters. “Mindfulness is being fully present and aware of your actions at every moment.” Therefore, the more you practice being fully in the present moment the more you will be able to find peace and happiness.
- Take time to look at the view. What view you ask? Well any place that is meaningful to you and that will provide opportunities for you to discover its wonders and beauty.
- Do not multitask. No one can really claim to be a good multi-task person. There is always something that will miss your attention. Learn to focus on one task at a time. Time is what you make it.
- Practice really tasting something. Savor it.
- Listen for the sounds of silence. Did you hear the chimes that hang outside your window? Pay attention to how the sounds fade and resonate again.
Mantra for today:
I appreciate my surroundings. I appreciate the sights and sounds around me, I appreciate the now.
