I apologize for the long hiatus. I have been dealing with so many things at once and of course could not truly speak to mindfulness. But I am back and I hope to fulfill my commitment to becoming more mindful and present in the now.
I have been reading a lot and I hope to share some thoughts. But I get motivated when I hear from my readers. So please l.eave me a comment every time you can.

Inspiration is always present. Sometimes you are more aware and in tune and sometimes you are not. I am trying to be more cognizant of those small things that inspire me. For example this morning I watched our resident squirrels in my back yard for about a half hour. I noticed that we had more than just two squirrels running around gleefully and without a care. There were four squirrels. Two seemed smaller. Were they the off-spring or were they visitors? No matter what the affiliation, they were happy. I mean I do not have a meter to measure the happiness of squirrels. I put myself in their place. The sun was out, the temperature was mild, and they are able to climb trees with expert ease. What is there not to love about their agility.
I would love to have their energy. They are so graceful as they climb tree and jump from branch to branch. I envy their acrobatics.
I did not plan to spend so much time observing the squirrels themselves but more on my endurance to be focused and mindful of nature and how it works. There is so much we can learn for animals.
I do want to use my energy for fomenting my own happiness. The squirrels definitely put a smile on my face. So much so that my husband asked me why I was smiling. I told him I was thinking about when we were young and so willing to be carefree. He returned the smile.
There is only one way to be happy. You need to start the minute you realize that happiness is about just living. It means knowing that life is happening all around us. So why not decide to start living more. Be happy like the squirrel in your neighborhood.
